Our science studies are scheduled in such a way that allows for subjects to align when possible (albeit at different levels), to facilitate community learning and discussion. Topics often align with Physical Geography and Nature Studies, particularly in the younger years.
Years 1-4 focuses heavily on on Physical Geography and Nature Studies, with Science being optional in Form 1 (most Forms 1-2 science texts align with Nature Studies topics, so they can join in as desired to expand their studies).
Multiple suggestions are usually given so instructors and parents can select from different approaches to fit their needs, while still following a consistent schedule. The provided options tend to include:
Booklists or guides for term-based science approaches (similar to the more European model of multiple scientific disciplines being taught each year, adding up to a full course over three years), such as those by Sabbath Mood;
More narrative-style texts such as John Hudson Tiner's World of series, which can be used either stand-alone, or with accompanying workbooks and tests by Memoria Press; as well as other lower-level Memoria Press science options, for those wanting single year-long courses.
Some suggestions for year-long independent studies of subjects, such as Novare textbooks, Journey Homeschool Academy (multi-faceted asynchronous online courses with labs), and St. Athanasius Academy or CLRC Science classes (mainly Orthodox Christian synchronous online courses)
