Sciences, as a more technical subject with topics that tend to build on each other, is organized into 2-year cycles beginning in Form 2 (Grade 3), so Cycles 1 and 3 have the same schedules, as do Cycles 2 and 4 (students will move up a level every two years). Topics or disciplines are scheduled in such a way that allows for subjects to align when possible (albeit at different levels), to facilitate community learning and discussion. Topics often align with Geographic Science and Nature Studies as well, particularly in the younger years. Form 1 (1-3rd) focuses on Geographic Science and Nature Studies.
Multiple suggestions are given so instructors and parents can select from different approaches to fit their needs, while still following a consistent schedule. The provided options tend to include:
Booklists or guides for term-based science approaches (similar to the more European model of multiple scientific disciplines being taught per year, adding up to a full course over three years), such as those by Sabbath Mood;
More narrative-style texts such as John Hudson Tiner's World of series, which can be used either stand-alone, or with accompanying workbooks and tests by Memoria Press (as well as other lower-level science options)
and, a few options for year-long independent studies of subjects, such as Novare and Apologia textbooks, Journey Homeschool Academy (multi-faceted asynchronous online courses with labs), or St. Athanasius Academy (Orthodox Christian synchronous online courses)
