Custom Spreadsheet Schedules & Dropdowns
• MAKE A COPY of the spreadsheet for the Form you need (though keep in mind, once it’s copied you won’t see the frequent edits we make on the main one, so check back often). Once you make a copy, you will then be able to see the drop-down options.
• Click on the dropdowns (the little arrows in each cell) and pick the assignments under the days you’d like to do them (oftentimes the spreadsheet has options for all 5 days, even if there are only 2-3 days of assignments so you can select which day you do them). For example, 4.2 would be the second lesson in Week 4, 4.3 would be the third lesson in Week 4, and so on.
• You can edit and customize, though keep in mind you will get errors if you try to type in a cell with an existing drop-down. Either delete the drop-down from the cell, or add your own drop-down option, and select. You can also make your own drop-down lists to pull from in additional tabs within the spreadsheet. Go to a cell where you want to make a new drop-down >Insert >Dropdown >Criteria, and select "drop-down from a range" (under Criteria) on the schedule, then select the range on the tab where you made your custom list
• I usually either duplicate the first tab to my own personal spreadsheet, or make a copy of the entire spreadsheet. I then make my own edits and select the days we plan on doing the assignments for that week, as well as adding any personal assignments such as homework from outside classes, math assignments, extra-curriculars, etc. I then print for each student (I select “fit to height” and “narrow margins” in the print options, adjusting columns as needed to fit on one page). I also save that week as a PDF to a folder for each student for our records.
